If you find yourself in Cape Town and and have some time, then our seven day Garden Route is a superb choice. We have designed the itinerary in such a way that you depart Cape Town and then return to Cape Town along a different route. You will get to experience a cross section of the region with all the attractions along the way. The overnight stays on this route are always chosen for there exquisite location.
ITINERARY
Day 1
CAPE TOWN | SWELLENDAM
Depart from CAPE TOWN and follow the Coastal road to the seaside town of Hermanus. After some wine tasting and lunch we continue inland to the historical town of Swellendam where we will overnight in the luxury of an exclusive country estate. Dinner is at a recommended restaurant in the historical main street of the town.

Day 2
SWELLENDAM | OUDTSHOORN
After a leisurely breakfast and an optional walk around the estate we depart from Swellendam making our way to the town of Oudtshoorn famous for the Cango Caves and Ostriches. The drive to Oudtshoorn takes us through some really interesting countryside and you will be amazed at some of the mountain passes and the exotic rock formations that we will see. We reach Oudtshoorn in the afternoon where we will do a driving tour of the town before arriving at our overnight destination. After the long drive you are free to enjoy the location before dinner at the unique restaurant.

Day 3
OUDTSHOORN | KNYSNA
As always the day begins with breakfast followed by a trip to the famous Cango Caves where you will go on a guided tour into this subterranean wonder. After the caves we take you to an Ostrich Show Farm where you will learn many interesting facts about these unique creatures. Lunch is enjoyed at the farm Restaurant. After lunch we depart from the arid Karoo heading over the Outeniqua Mountains to the coast and the start of the coastal Garden Route. Overnight is at Knysna which is one of the famous towns along the route.

Day 4
KNYSNA | STORMS RIVER
The day begins with a trip to the Knysna waterfront and then the Heads which is the entrance to the lagoon. Other attractions on the day, Birds of Eden, the world’s largest enclosed aviary, the Crags with its selection of interesting factory shops offering quality items at really good prices and Monkeyland. We then cross the border into the Eastern Cape where we arrive at Storms river in the heart of the Tsitsikamma Forest, our home base for the next two nights.

Day 5
STORMS RIVER | TSITSIKAMMA FOREST
Waking up in the heart of this enchanting area you have a full day to enjoy the numerous activities on offer. The worlds highest Bungy Jump at 218 meters, a hike to the suspension bridge at Storms River Mouth, the Canopy tour consisting of zip-lining through the treetops and much more. All the activities are just a short drive from your country hotel. After an exhilarating day you can relax and enjoy the surrounds of this magical area.

Day 6
STORMS RIVER | MOSSEL BAY
You have the morning to enjoy the village before we depart for Mossel Bay. Retracing some of the route we will stop at Plettenberg Bay and then Mossel Bay with it’s fascinating maritime museum. We then arrive at a Safari Lodge and you will enjoy a guided game drive into the bush to see some African Wildlife. On your return dinner is enjoyed in an authentic African restaurant with views over the bushveld.

Day 7
MOSSEL BAY | CAPE TOWN
You are woken up early for your morning excursion into the bush to see any of the animals that you might have missed the day before. On your return to the lodge you will enjoy a great breakfast on the deck. We depart the game lodge around mid-morning and make our way across the farm land of the Overberg. The route takes us over the Hottentots Holland mountains with plenty of scenic stops. After a full and absorbing Garden Route experience we arrive at Cape Town in the late afternoon.
