This 15 day Cape Town & Garden Route with luxury Safari is the ultimate way to experience the very best that the region has to offer. Although the itinerary appears busy there is plenty of down time where you can savour the location. ITINERARY
Day 1
MEET & GREET | CAPE TOWN
Our staff will meet you at Cape Town International Airport. We will then do a City Tour which also serves as an introduction to Cape Town. We will point out historical landmarks, shopping hot spots and recommended restaurants. On arrival at your Waterfront Hotel your tour guide will go over the itinerary with you, confirming pick-up times and any additional personal requests.

Day 2
TABLE MOUNTAIN AND ROBBEN ISLAND
We combine two of Cape Town’s most iconic landmarks in a Full Day experience that will be both spectacular and also emotional. When you visit the cell that Nelson Mandela lived in for 18 years of his 27 years of incarceration, tears have been known to flow. The tours on Robben Island are conducted by ex-political prisoners. The day is divided into two parts, Table Mountain in the morning and then Robben Island in the afternoon. Lunch will be at the V & A Waterfront before departing on the afternoon ferry to the Island.

Day 3
KIRSTENBOSCH AND CONSTANTIA VALLEY
Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden is the flagship of the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) and was established in 1913. It is the largest of the country’s nine botanical gardens covering 528 hectares. There is 36 hectares of developed garden with a network of scenic walkways. The Constantia Valley is home to the oldest wine estate in South Africa and is a wonderful region to explore, with its combination of first world experiences mixed with old world charm. The grand old lady of the Cape “Groot Constantia Wine Estate” is just one of the many attractions that make for a thoroughly absorbing and enjoyable day.

Day 4
CAPE POINT & PENINSULA
With its breath-taking beauty and rugged coastline this is one of the Cape’s most popular day tours. You will enjoy many attractions from African Penguins, historical towns and unique flora & fauna at the Cape of Good Hope with a walk to the Cape Point Lighthouse. A stop at the most South Westerly tip of the African continent is also quite stunning. This day Tour must rank amongst the best in the world when it comes to variety. Lunch is enjoyed at Black Marlin Restaurant along the route.

Day 5
STELLENBOSCH WINELANDS
Without a doubt one of the most alluring activities in Cape Town is a visit to the wine country. On the day you will visit at least four award winning wine estates and you can sample and purchase the ones that you enjoy the most. You will also have a wine and cheese paring which sets the standard for the rest of the day. The Cape Wine route was the first commercial wine route in the world and today it is regarded as one of the best. Lunch will be enjoyed at Boschendal Wine Estate in the form of a picnic lunch or in Franschhoek at one of their fine restaurants.

Day 6
STELLENBOSCH | HERMANUS
Enjoy a late breakfast at your country Hotel and savour the surrounds and then we continue on the next leg of our Winelands adventure where we will visit one of the oldest privately owned wine farms in the region with eight year old vintage wines available for tasting! We then travel towards the coast visiting more exquisite wine farms in the Somerset West area. After this we head along the coastal road to the seaside town of Hermanus. Dinner will be at a recommended restaurant close to your hotel.

Day 7
HERMANUS | GANSBAAI
On this day we depart from Hermanus early morning, for a meeting with the worlds most feared and misunderstood predators, the “GREAT WHITE SHARK!” You will experience Shark Cage Diving at Gansbaai which is about an hour’s drive from Hermanus. The boat trip to Dyer Island and Shark Alley takes about half an hour and then you wait for the predators to arrive! This just could be the highlight of your South African trip! If you are not keen to go into the cage then you are able to observe all the action from the deck, this is also most exciting! After the shark diving we head back to Hermanus but not before sampling some craft beer at the Birkenhead Breweries. The afternoon is spent exploring the town.

Day 8
HERMANUS | OUDTSHOORN
After a relaxing breakfast overlooking Walker Bay we depart from Hermanus and make our way inland towards the town of Oudtshoorn which is in the heart of the Karoo. The road trip from Hermanus is long (4 hours) covering some spectacular mountain passes and scenic countryside! We arrive at Oudtshoorn in the afternoon where you can relax at a country retreat before enjoying a fine dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 9
OUDTSHOORN | KNYSNA
We start the day with a visit to the famous Cango Caves where you will go on a guided tour of this subterranean wonder. After your caving adventure we visit Cango Ostrich Farm where you will be introduced to these fascinating wonders of nature. You will get a chance to touch them and to even ride one if you feel like it. After your encounter with the Ostriches there is a light lunch at the farm. The afternoon is spent travelling through the Outeniqua Mountains to Knysna and the start of the coastal Garden Route. After checking in at your Hotel dinner is at the Knysna Waterfront!

Day 10
KNYSNA | TSITSIKAMMA FOREST
As always the day begins with breakfast followed by a trip to the famous Knysna Heads, and the entrance to the Lagoon. We then continue through the Garden Route, Highlights of the days traveling is a visit to Monkey Land and Birds of Eden which is the world’s largest enclosed aviary. We also visit the Crags with its selection of factory shops which offer quality items at really good prices. After these attractions we continue across the border into the Eastern Cape. Our overnight destination is the Tsitsikamma Forest and Storms River.

Day 11
TTSITSIKAMMA FOREST | STORMS RIVER MOUTH
The day begins with a full program of exciting activities to choose from. From your forest base you are but a stones throw from the world’s highest Bungy Bridge Jump (218m), the Forest Canopy Tour and The mighty Storms River Mouth. If the bungy jump is not for you then there is a selection of forest of hikes available. All of these activities are highly recommended, with the Bungy jump being the most mentally challenging of course! After a full and exciting day we return to the Village Inn for sun-downers and later dinner.

Day 12
TSITSIKAMMA FOREST | PORT ELIZABETH
This is your last morning in the Garden Route and if there are any last minute things that you might like to try in the area then this is your chance to do so. We depart Storms River mid-morning for our trip to Port Elizabeth. On the way to PE we will stop at Jeffery’s Bay which is one of the world’s best surfing spots and hosts a number of surfing events which attracts the biggest names in the sport. Jeffery’s Bay is regarded as having the perfect surfing wave! After this we continue to Port Elizabeth where you will meet the Safari Lodge shuttle and this is the start of your luxury African Safari at a Private Game Reserve.

Day 13
PRIVATE TENTED CAMP | EASTERN CAPE
A wake-up call from the comfort of your tented camp as your game ranger beckons you to join him on an early morning safari drive into the bush. The Private Game Reserve consists of 18000 acres of dramatic african landscapes with an abundance of wildlife. You are likely to encounter Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo as well as many other African species. The region is free of malaria and the guides are highly trained. All the excursions are in open land rovers allowing you the opportunity to capture some great camera shots.

Day 14
PRIVATE TENTED CAMP | ADDO ELEPHANT NATIONAL PARK
Today you will join an excursion into the internationally famous Addo Elephant Park. This national park is home to the highest density of African Elephants in the world. The Private Tented Camp has traversing rights into this national park and you will once again be guided by a qualified wildlife ranger. Apart from an abundance of African Wildlife Addo Elephant Park also boasts five of Southern Africa’s seven Biomes, Bush-veld to Savannah! After another exhilarating day in the African Bush you return to your tented camp to relax before dinner under the stars!

Day 15
PRIVATE TENTED CAMP | PORT ELIZABETH AIRPORT
You have come to your final day on Safari and you have the choice of joining your game ranger on a last early morning excursion into the bush. This is your opportunity to prehaps tick off that elusive animal that you have not yet seen. On your return to camp it is time to reflect on the previous days and indeed weeks. You would have had the chance to visit world famous attractions, dive with Great White Sharks, jump off a bridge on a bungy cord, and see Africa’s wildlife up close! And that is just a fraction of the overall experience! All that is left is a transfer to Port Elizabeth Airport to start your homeward bound journey, taking with you many wonderful memories and photographs.
