Later we make our way to MARDOUW COUNTRY HOUSE where we overnight in the luxury of an exclusive country estate. Dinner is served on the patio overlooking the magnificent estate grounds.

After a leisurely breakfast and a stroll around the garden we depart from MARDOUW COUNTRY HOUSE at around 10am and we make our way to the town of OUDSTHOORN, famous for the CANGO CAVES and Ostriches. The drive to Oudtshoorn takes us through some really interesting countryside and you will be amazed at some of the mountain passes and the exotic rock formations that we will see. We enjoy a light lunch along the way and sample some PORT at Calitszdorp - This region is world famous for fortified wine (port) production. Arriving in Oudtshoorn we visit the CANGO CAVES to explore some of its wonders. Overnight is at LA PENSION guest house and dinner is at one of the fine restaurants in town where you can try Ostrich steaks cooked to a TEEEEE!
Day 3
After breakfast we depart from La Pension and head to HIGH NOON OSTRICH farm to learn more about these fascinating birds. After this we make our way towards the coast, negotiating the OUTENIQUA mountain pass en route - once again magnificent scenery. On our way to Knysna we pass through the town of George which is the largest town in the region. We arrive in Knysna in the early afternoon where we check in at the ELEPHANT HIDE GUEST LODGE. After freshening up we depart for the town and spend the afternoon exploring the area. Dinner is at one of the fine restaurants in town.
Day 4
We depart from The Elephant Hide after an enjoyable breakfast and make our way to the ferry that will take us to the Featherbed Nature reserve across the Knysna Lagoon. This excursion is highly recommended and takes four hours which includes a substantial buffet lunch and some interesting local information. Upon returning to shore we proceed up the coast towards PLETTENBERG BAY. We enjoy dinner at one of the legendary restaurants overlooking the beach. We overnight in Plettenberg Bay staying at THE GRAND.
Day 5
After breakfast we enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beach before heading towards the CRAGS where we will spend time enjoying the area with much to see and do. Tenikwa Wildlife Centre, Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary and craft & Art shops are all on the day's program. Lunch is enjoyed at a local wine farm that serves delicious cheese platters. After a thouroughly absorbing day we head towards the village of Storms River and the Tsitsikamma Forest. We overnight at the Village Hotel in Storms River.
Day 6
After a hearty breakfast we are all fuelled up to enjoy the Tsitsikamma Forest region with all its attractions. The Tsitsikamma offers a great variety of activities that can be enjoyed. The day can be spent in any number of ways with many adrenalin pumping things to do. The Tsitsikamma boasts the worlds highest BUNGY JUMP (Bloukraans Bridge 210m free fall). Other activities for the more adventurous are River Rafting down the Storms River, Zip Lining through the forest canopy 70m up and abseiling into a ravine. For the less ambitious visitors you can enjoy a leisurely hike to the Storms River suspension Bridge, or a boat trip up the Storms River Mouth.
Storms River Mouth is also a great place to enjoy lunch. The full day in the Tsitsikamma can also be used as a chance to re-fuel, by relaxing around the pool or walsking in the forest, you will see, it is paradise. This is why we spend two nights in the Tsitsikamma to allow a full day to really experience the region. Overnight at the Village Hotel in Storms River.
Day 7
After breakfast we depart the Tsitsikamma and begin our drive to PORT ELIZABETH and then on to PUMBA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE. On the way to PUMBA we will stop off at JEFFRY’S BAY which is a world famous surfing beach for a few photographs and a light lunch. Once we pass through the City of PE we will start to head inland and you will see how the landscape changes from lush forest to Eastern Cape Bushveld. PORT ELIZABETH is the fifth largest city in South Africa and is a major shipping port.
We arrive at PUMBA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE in the afternoon where you will be welcomed by the PUMBA staff. After a brief introduction you will be shown to your exquisite accommodation.
