This unique tour focuses on the historical and cultural
aspects of Cape Town and the Peninsula. The route takes
us to Groot Constantia Estate, Hout Bay fishing harbour
and Signal Hill for a panoramic view of the Mother City.
Another highlight of the trip is a guided walking tour
of Adderley Street. Starting from the Foreshore, the walk
includes a visit to the South African Cultural Museum
(1679) and ends at the Company Gardens established in
1652. Along the way, you will experience the life of the
Mother City with its colourful people. As an alternative
to the walking tour, we offer the Cape Town Castle tour,
which is equally as interesting.
From
Cape Town, we head South visiting Rhodes Memorial and
Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden where you can enjoy an open-air
lunch in a near perfect natural setting. After lunch,
we return to the South Peninsula via a scenic drive that
includes Boyes Drive with spectacular views over False
Bay.
Other interesting highlights include The Post House (1673)
the fishing harbour of Kalk Bay and the fascinating African
Penguin colony at Boulders Beach. Add to this the seaside
towns of Scarborough and Kommetjie (Little Basin), the
township tour of Masiphumelele and you have all the ingredients
for what can only be an absorbing and memorable experience.
Of course, nothing is complete without a good lunch stop
at a recommended restaurant along the route.
