Summerfield Cottage is a charming self-catering home from home, situated on the lower slopes of the Glencairn mountainside. It is set in a tranquil garden in a quiet and secure area of Fish Hoek.

Your hosts, David and Eve Anderson, ran a very ‘English’ independent preparatory school in Johannesburg before retiring to Fish Hoek in 1998. We enjoy meeting and getting to know our guests, helping them with transport, planning excursions and advising them on restaurants and live entertainment. We are happy to collect our visitors from Cape Town International Airport and also to advise them on their South African itinerary.

Fish Hoek is a seaside village on the warm Indian Ocean some forty minutes from downtown Cape Town. It is renowned for its safe sandy bathing beach.

Wild Rose Country Lodge lies between the spectacular mountain scenery and the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, 30 minutes from Cape Town. The thatched Lodge has ethnic colonial touches, with stylishly decorated en-suite bedrooms, each with sea or mountain views.

Afton Grove is conveniently located in the beautiful Noordhoek valley, only a short drive from the city and all must-see Cape attractions.

The nine charming "Cape-Style" cottages & one Executive Suite are set in a 2 acre bird-filled garden with mountain views and overlooking a sparkling swimming pool. All units are equipped with tea and coffee facilities, bar fridge, DSTV, telephone and laundry facilities are available. Owners run & manage the facility & friendly service and attention to detail are hallmarks at Afton Grove.

They are also keen birdwatchers and guests are invited to hear about some of the richest birding hideaways in the Cape. Another perfect base from which to explore the Cape, that's why it's included in our handful.

Wood Owl Cottage is an old forestry house which has been lovingly restored and offers three tastefully furnished en-suite bedrooms. It is spacious and luxurious, perfect for a family or a group, with wooden floors, high ceilings and a large living/dining room with a fireplace.

Wood Owl Cottage is fully self-catering, however, breakfast can be arranged for you on request. Also includes telephone, TV in separate TV room, patio with barbeque area, fully equipped kitchen with microwave oven, ironing facilities, daily valet services and full house-keeping facilities. This cottage is highly recommended, as you can enjoy an early morning stroll in one of the most beautiful forests in Africa, before we collect you for one of your pre-scheduled activities.

Sitara Country Lodge is the perfect nature retreat for holiday makers and because it's very central it makes for an excellent base for SeasCape Tours to show you the Peninsula from. Relax in the splendour of an exclusive country lodge, at the centre of the Cape Peninsula and enjoy service with a personal touch. At Sitara, sumptuous breakfasts are served daily.

The Lodge is also the ideal setting for a special evening meal, served on request. The chef's specialities are seafood BBQ's, as well as, traditional African style dinners. This Guest House is situated on the mountain side over looking Fish Hoek Bay, the views are magnificent to say the least. A Whale of a Time offers character filled self-catering accommodation with breakfast on request. All the usual comforts are standard, with TV, Private Bathrooms, Salt water swimming pool and deck.

The beauty of this choice is that you are close to the Town of Fish Hoek that boasts an excellent shopping centre with many fine restaurants, and the beach is one of the best that Cape Town has to offer. A Whale Of A Time, like the others on our list will be a perfect base to launch from. An added bonus is that during September to November the Southern Wright Whales come to Fish Hoek Bay, you can watch them from the pool side.

The original British Hotel was built in 1897 at the naval village of Simon's Town. The Hotel is situated in the main street of Town with neighbouring buildings making up the historic mile. The main street in Simon's Town has 21 buildings dating back more than 150 years, with some superb examples of Victorian style architecture.

The British Hotel offers four spacious self-catering apartments and three courtyard suites. Each apartment has an open-plan kitchen with the adjoining dining and living rooms leading onto a large balcony that overlooks the historic harbour and False Bay. Each suite offers a double bedroom, a bathroom and small sitting room, overlooking the delightful courtyard. Breakfast can be arranged on request. Simon's Town is a busy little town with a wonderful history, there are some excellent restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel. The British Hotel offers an alternative to the country or beach situated Guest Houses, it's your choice, let us know.
